Brew-it-Again American Brown Ale HBL 5 Gal Extract With Grain Homebrew Recipe Kit

Delicious, easy to brew and made with a top-cropping yeast suited for harvesting (and re-use) so you can brew it again with the same yeast.

Kit includes

  • 2 - 3.3lb Cans of CBW Pilsen Light LME
  • 8 oz Midnight Wheat Malt
  • 8 oz Caramel Malt 60L
  • Note: All grain will be milled and packed in one bag
  • 1 - 1 oz Cascade  Hops
  • 1 - 1 oz Mt. Hood Hops
  • 1 - Grain Steeping Bag

Yeast, Bottle Caps, Yeast Nutrient, and Priming Sugar NOT Included

1 oz Cascade Hops (6% AA) Boil 60 minutes
0.5 oz Mt. Hood Hops (7% AA) Boil 5 minutes
1 capsule Servomyces Yeast Nutrient Boil 10 minutes

1 vial WLP039 East Midlands (Nottingham)

Procedures

  1. Perform mini-mash with 4 gallons of water and grains
  2. Steep at 152-158ºF for 30 minutes
  3. Add extract
  4. Bring to a boil
  5. Add bittering hops and continue to boil
  6. Add remaining hops and Servomyces as indicated
  7. Remove from heat
  8. Cool to 72ºF
  9. Transfer to primary fermenter
  10. Fill to desired level with cold water
  11. Oxygenate and pitch yeast

Primary Fermentation: 14 days at 66-70ºF
Secondary Fermentation: 14 days at 35ºF
