German Huell Melon or Hüll Melon, is a relatively new hop varietal developed by the Hop Research Institute in Hüll.  This hop has very distinct flavors of honeydew melon and strawberry.  Many people find the aromas associated with this hop to be entirely unique to the lupulin family. Hüll Melon has quickly become one of Germany's most popular hops and is rapidly taking over noble-hop acreage. Due to it's unique flavor profile, feel free to toss this into whatever you see fit. Many craftbrewers are making single hop pale ales and IPAs with it, but the possibilities are endless.

Bred by the Hop Research Center of Hülll, this new variety is a daughter of Cascade released in 2012. Hülll Melon’s unique but mellow fruit character makes it a good choice for styles where overpowering hop flavor may not be warranted. It melds well with the yeast character of Hefeweizen and Belgian ales, but can also work as as standalone hop as a feature of a summer seasonal or Brett fermentation. It has a mild to moderate aroma with vivid impressions of summer melon (especially honeydew) and ripe strawberry bouquet.
