Waimea is a dual purpose hop bred and released by the NZ Hort Research Centre in 2012. Waimea is known for vigorous growth; produced in an area that is desease free. The granddaughter of Pacific Jade, it offers assertive citrus fruit aromas with subtle pine notes.
Waimea hops are a new favorite from the Southern Hemisphere, and demonstrate excellent bittering and aroma potential! Featuring huge pine and citrus character, including intense tangelo, this has become a new favorite amongst craft brewers. Due to the high alpha acids and impressive oil content, this is a superior dual purpose hop. Throw some Southern Hemisphere in your next beer!
